Early Life
James "Jamie" Oliver was born in Britain 27th of May 1975. He grew up in Essex, where his parents ran a successfull restaurant/pub in Clavering. Jamie started working in his parent's restaurant at the age of 12, so he has always worked with food and was highly influenced by his parents' career choices.
Education
At the age of 16, he started his culinary studies in Westminister Catering College. After graduating he worked in many reputable restaurants, which helped him get his name known in the restaurant business. His first appearance on television was when he appeared on a documentary of the River Cafe he was currently working at. After that he got a lot of recognition from hosting a cookign show called "The Naked Chef". This helped Oliver to open his own restaurants and write best-seller cookbooks.
